Sacraments

Baptism:

Baptisms for infants are celebrated on the first and third Sundays of every month at 1:30 p.m. Scheduling should be arranged as early as possible. First-time parents are required to attend an instruction class which is held on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the rectory.

Reconciliation:

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered in the confessional in Our Lady's Chapel on Saturdays after the 8am, 9am, and 7:30pm Masses and also from 4pm to 5pm. It is also offered after the 9am Mass on the eves of Holy Days of Obligation and on the eve of First Fridays. Confessions are also available by appointment or upon request in the rectory.

Eucharist:

Children in the second grade at Resurrection School are prepared for First Communion which they receive in May of the second grade. Children not attending Resurrection Grammar are prepared in their second grade in the Parish Religious Education Program.  Two years of formal classroom religious education is required before a child may receive First Communion, First Reconciliation or Confirmation.

  • Holy Communion is brought to the hospitalized and homebound by the parish priests and Eucharistic Ministers. Contact one of the parish priests to make arrangements for receipt of the sacraments. (914) 967-0142

Confirmation:

Children in the eighth grade at Resurrection are prepared for reception of Confirmation before the end of the school year. For children not attending Resurrection School, please contact the Parish Religious Education Program (925-2754).  Two years for formal classroom Religious Education is required to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation as well as First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Matrimony:

Since Catholic marriage requires a time of preparation, arrangements should begin at least six months before the proposed date of the wedding. Parishioners who are registered and participating can make arrangements for the date and time after speaking with one of the parish priests. (914) 967-0142.

Anointing of the Sick:

There are two communal anointings during the year which are announced in the Parish Bulletin and from the Altar. For individual anointings contact one of the parish priests to make arrangements for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. (914) 967-0142.
