You have to like Martha in this Gospel. She was annoyed with Jesus and told Him so. She, her sister Mary, and Lazarus were very good friends to Jesus and she wanted an answer – “why didn’t you come sooner?”

         This conversation led to the great response, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
         He means a new kind of life that is shared here and now -- the life of grace that puts us in close relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
         Celebrate this life especially during Holy Week.
