It refers to the three Persons in the one God. Because we are dealing with mystery, we break up the function of each to God the Father as Creator, to Jesus as Redeemer, and to the Holy Spirit as Sanctifier. But all three Persons created the universe, all three redeem, and all three sanctify. One God (three Persons) present to us always with a love that is overwhelming. To bring it home more deeply, Augustine writes, “God loves each one of us as if there were only one of us to love.” How special you are!
